I recently learned that you need to moisturize your face prior to makeup, even if you are oily! I was so scared about wearing too much product under my makeup. However, I did research on Estee Lauder's DayWear Matte Moisturizer - it differs from the other DayWear creams as it provides a mattified appearance and minimizes pores.
It has a gel-like feel and smells just like fresh cucumbers. After drying down on your skin, it feels as if there is nothing - due to the gel, I was expecting a 'filmy' sort of feeling but did not experience that.
Wear test - after 8 hours, I only required to touch up one time - versus about 3 or 4 times without it!
If you have excess oil production on your face and want to have a flawless, matte finish - this is a great moisturizer that can be worn with or without makeup. While I did not see a huge difference in pore minimization, it does have oil control properties. For oily women, this is a must!
I am on the hunt for a drugstore-based moisturizer that may perform just as well. LaRoche Posay just came out with something similar - and it has SPF! I may try and review soon!
If you have oily skin and have a budget to try the DayWear Matte, go for it! Its $52 USD for a jar with 1.7MLs of product. I have used the formula daily for 4 months and still have some left!ext here...
